About me
Born in 1969 and Masters’ in Anthropology from Dr. Harisingh Gaur Viswavidyalaya, Sagar, Madhya Pradesh in 1993, with specialization in Physical Anthropology. Area of interests in researches are Bio-social Anthropology, Medical Anthropology, Hunter-gatherer Society, Island Society, Ecological Anthropology, Tribal Health, Anthropology of Natural Disaster & Rehabilitation Programmes, Social Transformation & Ethnic Identity, Development & Sustainability.

Professional Exposure
Supervisor, M.Phil. (History) dissertation (Pondicherry University) on “Nineteenth Century Ethnography of Andaman Tribe: Special Reference to E.H. Man”.
Supervisor, Masters’ dissertation (Ecology & Environment, Sikkim-Manipal University) on “Human-Nature Relationship of Bengali Settlers in South Andaman”.
Carried out extensive and intensive survey among the Jarawa of Andaman Islands in connection with the “Study on Jarawa Policy” during December 2001- September 2002. This study lead by a team of Multidisciplinary Experts under the guidance of Min. of Home Affairs, Govt. of India (vide Notification No. U-14040/24/99-ANL dt.21-7-2001), in pursuance of the order of the Honourable High Court, Kolkata, dated on 09.04.2001.
Lead a multi-disciplinary and multi-departmental study team, constituted by the A&N Administration to ascertain the “Impact of Tsunami among the Shompen of Great Nicobar Island and Nicobarese of Southern group of Nicobar Islands” in 2005.
One of the members of the Working Group and in the Sub-Committee of Andaman Adim Janjati Vikas Samity (AAJVS), A&N Administration for “Ration to the Great Andamanese and Onges of A&N Islands”.
One of the members of the Expert Committee in framing the Draft of the Jarawa Policy, 2011, constituted by the Ministry of Tribal Welfare, Govt. of India and A&N Administration.
One of the members of the Expert Committee in framing the Draft of the Shompen Policy, 2012, constituted by the Ministry of Tribal Welfare, Govt. of India and A&N Administration.
