It was a great privilege for me to deliver the Inaugural Young Scientist Lecture, organized by Structural Geology and Tectonic Studies Group of India (SGTSGI) on 10th October 2020. Basically, I talked about diffusion creep rheology of diopside. In addition, I focused on the step-by-step process of developing flow laws in the laboratory and the limitations associated with such studies.
I was pleasantly surprised when Dr. Jason Loxton (@jason_loxton) contacted me to make a short, casual video for his students about structural geology; mainly what a structural geologist does. It was a fun experience for me. Later he sends me one of his student's feedback about this video: "Dr. Ghosh from India who is structural geologist told us about how he went to the Himalayas for some hands on research to find clues and understand the formation of the mountain range. He helped me understand about the deformation of the earth which lead to these natural wonders like mountains etc". I was taken aback by this response, and it encourages me to more actively participate in science education and outreach.
