1. Introduction

SubGuard ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the SubGuard – Smart Subscription Tracker mobile application.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

Subscription names, amounts, and billing dates you enter manually
Category names and custom settings
Account information if you sign in with Google (name, email address)

Information collected automatically:

App crash reports and error logs (via Firebase Crashlytics)
Anonymous app usage analytics (via Firebase Analytics)
Device type and operating system version

We do NOT collect:

Payment card numbers or banking information
Actual transaction data from your bank or cards
Passwords for any subscription services
Your location

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Store and display your subscription data within the app
Send renewal reminder notifications you have enabled
Sync your data across devices (Premium users only)
Improve app performance and fix bugs
Provide customer support

4. Data Storage

Local storage:
All subscription data is stored locally on your device using an encrypted database. Your financial data never leaves your device unless you enable cloud sync.

Cloud storage (Premium only):
If you sign in with Google and enable cloud sync, your subscription data is stored securely in Google Firebase Firestore. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties except:

Google Firebase — for authentication, cloud sync, and crash reporting (Premium users)
Google Play Billing — for processing Premium subscription purchases
Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect our rights

6. Google Sign-In

If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google. We use this only to identify your account and sync your data. We do not access your Google contacts, Gmail, Google Drive, or any other Google services.

7. Notifications

SubGuard sends local notifications to remind you of upcoming subscription renewals. These notifications are processed entirely on your device. You can disable notifications at any time in the app settings or your device settings.

8. Security

We implement the following security measures:

Local database encryption
Optional PIN lock and biometric authentication
All network communication uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
Firebase security rules restrict data access to the account owner only

9. Children's Privacy

SubGuard is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access — view all data stored in the app at any time
Delete — delete any or all subscriptions from the app
Export — export your data as CSV or PDF (Premium)
Account deletion — delete your cloud account and all associated data by contacting us or using the delete account option in Settings

To delete all your cloud data:
Settings → Account → Delete Account

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
