Cross-linguistic research shows that languages express distributivity and plurality across the full range of lexical categories (e.g. nouns, verbs, determiners, adjectives, adverbs) and often through parallel morphosyntactic means. These parallels raise fundamental questions about the compositional architecture of grammar and the nature of cross-categorial operators. This one-day workshop aims to bring together research on a variety of languages and through a variety of methodologies to examine how such mechanisms operate across categories and what they reveal about the morphosyntax–semantics interface.
