Sustainable Style was founded by a group of high school students in May, 2024.

Our mission is to drive the community to make impact on the global fast fashion issue.

Hello, my name is Lemeng and I am a student leader passionate about environmental science, specifically fast fashion. I started Sustainable Style to spread awareness in youth and encourage local action. Outside of running the nonprofit, I love exploring business/economics and public policy!

I love to swim and I have been swimming for 11 years now. I swim for my school and I used to swim for a club team. I decided to use my skills and become a lifeguard at my local pool where I teach swim classes for adults and children. Outside of work and school I love to draw and work with electronics. The dilemma of fast fashion has always intrigued me and I hope to help slow the consumerism of mass produced clothing.

Hello! My name is Nathan, and I explore the intersection between environmental science and engineering. I’ve spent the past few years restoring native grasslands, growing native plant species, and experimenting with sustainable (hydrogel) materials. My work is grounded in the belief that environmental solutions should be both practical and scalable. To me, sustainability isn’t a buzzword; it's a design challenge worth solving.

I'm passionate about helping others, especially individuals in overlooked communities. That's why I dedicate much of my time volunteering at food banks and tutoring students with special needs. In my free time, I enjoy reading and listening to music. I joined SustainableStyle because I believe sustainability should be accessible to everyone, and I want to help people make more informed, mindful choices when it comes to the clothes they buy.

I am an interdisciplinary thinker and creator who values sustainable practices and personalization. I am committed to transforming awareness into action by combining environmental science, culture, art, and storytelling, and helping others do the same to create a better natural environment. Just like sustainable style, I believe that change begins with small everyday actions, such as establishing local recycling stations to educate others about textile waste issues!

I thrive on tackling new challenges and exploring diverse interests. Whether I’m researching in the lab, crafting a poem, or leading a team on the tennis court, I’m motivated by a desire to make an impact and inspire others. I’m always seeking opportunities to grow and contribute to meaningful projects that bring positive change to my community. When I first joined Sustainablestyle, I was deeply inspired by the organizations effort to combat the growing epidemic of fast fashion. Especially when it's so prevalent around me. In addition, a fun fact about me is that I love coffee ice cream!

At school, I write and edit for our online journalism publication. In my free time, I enjoy oil painting, keeping houseplants, and listening to music.
