STYC Community Policies
1. Community Guidelines (The Code of Conduct)
To keep this a safe space for all students and teenagers, we require everyone to follow these core rules:
Respect and Empathy: We are all here to grow. Harassment, bullying, or hate speech of any kind will result in an immediate and permanent ban.
Anonymity & Privacy: Respect the privacy of others. Do not "dox" or reveal the real-world identity of any member who chooses to remain anonymous.
Non-Judgmental Space: Avoid giving unsolicited medical advice. Share your story, offer support, but leave the clinical diagnosis to the professionals.
Trigger Warnings: When sharing sensitive stories regarding self-harm, eating disorders, or trauma, please include a [TW] tag at the beginning of your post to protect other members.
2. Privacy Policy
Your privacy is our priority. We understand that mental health data is sensitive.
Data Collection: We collect minimal information. If you post anonymously in the Safe Space, your identity is shielded from other users.
Third-Party Sharing: We do not sell your data to advertisers. Your information is used solely to improve the STYC experience.
Cookies: We use basic cookies to remember your theme preferences (like Dark Mode) and to keep you logged into your dashboard.
3. Safety & Crisis Disclaimer
STYC is a peer-support community, not a medical provider.
Not a Substitute for Therapy: The resources in The Hub and discussions in our Threads are for educational and community purposes only. They are not a replacement for professional mental health counseling or medical treatment.
Emergency Situations: If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a life-threatening crisis, please do not post on the wall. Navigate immediately to our [Help] page or contact your local emergency services (e.g., 988 in the US/Canada).
4. Moderation Policy
Our moderation team (The STYC Guardians) monitors the community to ensure safety.
Content Removal: We reserve the right to remove any content that violates our community guidelines or promotes self-destructive behavior.
Reporting: If you see something that makes you feel unsafe, please use the "Report" button on the post immediately.
5. Terms of Use
By using the STYC website, you agree to:
Use the site for its intended purpose of mental health support and growth.
Not use the platform to solicit business, spam members, or distribute malicious software.
Acknowledge that you are at least 13 years of age (or have parental consent as per digital privacy laws).
6. Contact & Feedback
We are always looking to improve the community for our students. If you have questions about these policies or want to suggest a change, reach out via our Socials or through our official Telegram.
