If you want an open-ear design that keeps your ears safe and aware of your surroundings while running or cycling, choose STUPIDYIN Open Ear Headphones; if you need deep immersion in music on a long-haul flight or a noisy commute, choose Kaidrus Hybrid Active Noise.
• STUPIDYIN: Its biggest strength is the secure, over-the-ear hook design with 14.2mm drivers that deliver surprising bass without blocking your ear canal, but it lacks any active noise cancellation to fight engine hum.
• Kaidrus: Its superpower is hybrid active noise cancellation that silences airplanes and trains using 40mm drivers, yet it uses an over-ear style that might feel bulky for intense athletic movement.
• Who it's for: Pick STUPIDYIN for outdoor safety and sports; pick Kaidrus for travel silence and office focus.
The STUPIDYIN S25 model is built for people who refuse to compromise on situational awareness. The defining feature here is the open-ear architecture. Instead of pushing plastic into your ear canal like traditional buds, these rest gently over your ears. This ergonomic hook design ensures they stay put during intense motion, whether you are hiking a trail, running through city traffic, or hitting the gym. For anyone with sensitive ears or those who find in-ear buds painful after an hour, this lightweight build offers a pain-free alternative for all-day wear.
Sound quality in open-ear designs often suffers, but STUPIDYIN attempts to counteract this with massive 14.2mm dynamic drivers. These drivers push enough air to deliver rich details and thumping bass that rivals some closed-back options. The directional audio transmission technology helps minimize sound leakage, so your neighbors don't hear your playlist, though the open nature means you will still hear the world around you. This makes them the safest choice for runners or cyclists who need to hear approaching cars or pedestrians. You cannot have true isolation with this design, and that is exactly why you would buy them.

Battery life is another area where this unit shines for the traveler. With a total playtime of up to 30 hours, you can go days between charges. The charging case features a real-time LED digital display, so you never guess how much power is left; it shows you the exact percentage from 0 to 100%. Inside, you get 6 to 7 hours of continuous listening on a single charge. Combined with Bluetooth 5.4, which offers rock-solid connections within 33 feet and low latency, these headphones handle calls and media seamlessly. They are ideal for driving or online meetings where clear voice pickup is non-negotiable, thanks to dual microphones with noise reduction algorithms. However, if you need to block out the roar of a jet engine, these will not work for you.
The Kaidrus Hybrid Active Noise headphones target a completely different user: the person seeking total auditory control. These are over-ear headphones designed to create a bubble of silence. The core technology here is advanced hybrid noise cancellation, which actively cancels out background frequencies. This is crucial for environments like airplanes, trains, or busy offices where constant low-frequency drone exists. Unlike the STUPIDYIN, which lets ambient sound in, these let you decide when to hear the world via a specific transparency mode.
Audio fidelity is handled by larger 40mm drivers compared to the open-ear competitors. These drivers are capable of delivering crisp highs, balanced mids, and rich, deep bass that fills the room or your headspace. The experience is immersive and premium, suitable for critical listening sessions. Connectivity relies on Bluetooth 5.2, which provides a stable wireless link, though slightly older than the newest generation found in the STUPIDYIN. The call quality is robust, utilizing ENC (environmental noise cancellation) technology alongside better voice pick-up. This combination blocks out wind and chaotic backgrounds, ensuring your voice comes through clearly even in windy conditions or crowded streets.
Comfort is a major selling point for this form factor. Despite having large ear cups, the build is lightweight and features soft memory cushions. The adjustable headband distributes weight evenly, allowing you to wear them pressure-free for extended periods. Even if you wear glasses, the ear pads are designed to be comfortable without creating excessive pressure points. The package includes a travel case, signaling that these are meant to be packed away and taken on trips. The battery supports up to 30 hours of playtime, matching the longevity of the open-ear option. However, because they cover your ears entirely, they are not suitable for high-intensity workouts where sweat management and airflow are concerns, nor are they safe for running near traffic.

• Best for quiet office focus → Kaidrus Hybrid Active Noise (blocks out chatter and typing).
• Best driver size → Kaidrus (40mm vs 14.2mm for deeper bass potential).
• Best connectivity standard → STUPIDYIN (Bluetooth 5.4 offers lower latency than 5.2).
• Best for glasses wearers → Kaidrus (memory cushions reduce pressure).
• Best for battery monitoring → STUPIDYIN (LED digital display shows exact percentage).
I would personally choose the Kaidrus Hybrid Active Noise for my daily life, specifically for long flights and commutes. While the STUPIDYIN is an impressive feat of engineering for open-ear audio, there is simply no substitute for the peace of mind provided by active noise cancellation when you are trying to sleep on a red-eye flight or focus in a loud café. The 40mm drivers offer a richness that open-ear designs struggle to match, and the ability to switch to transparency mode gives me the flexibility I need. If you prioritize hearing the birds chirping while jogging, grab the STUPIDYIN, but for the ultimate travel companion, the Kaidrus wins.
Neither product is rated as IPX7 waterproof; the STUPIDYIN carries an IPX4 rating which protects against light splashes and sweat, making it suitable for workouts but not submersion. The Kaidrus headphones do not carry a specific waterproof rating in the provided data, so they should be kept dry.
The Kaidrus over-ear design features an adjustable headband and memory foam cushions, which generally accommodates larger head sizes comfortably. The STUPIDYIN uses flexible ear hooks that adjust to various ear shapes, though individual fit depends on ear geometry rather than head circumference.
Yes, the Kaidrus Hybrid Active Noise is explicitly designed for this purpose, using hybrid noise cancellation to eliminate engine drone and 40mm drivers for immersive sound. The STUPIDYIN is not recommended for this use case as its open design allows the plane noise to enter your ears.
Both products offer a substantial 30 hours of total playtime. The STUPIDYIN provides 6 to 7 hours per charge, while the Kaidrus also lists 30 hours total, meaning they perform equally well for multi-day trips without needing frequent recharging.
