StudyBuddy - Memory Palace ("we", "our", or "the App") is developed and published by Dreamlit. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains our data practices, what information is collected, and how it is used.
StudyBuddy is designed with an offline-first architecture. Your study decks, notes, flashcards, tags, test scores, diagnostics, and voice recordings are stored locally on your device in a private, encrypted/sandboxed SQLite database and local app directory. We do not operate proprietary user-tracking servers or sell your data.
The App requests the following permissions strictly for core functionality:
Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO):
Purpose: Enables users to record their own audio notes or spoken explanations directly to flashcards for active auditory recall.
Data Handling: All audio recordings remain 100% on your device. Audio files are never transmitted to Dreamlit servers or third parties.
Internet Access (INTERNET):
Purpose: Required exclusively for delivering Google AdMob advertisements and checking network connectivity.
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS):
Purpose: Allows optional, local-only daily study reminders scheduled by the user. Notifications are generated locally on the device with no cloud push servers.
Third-Party Services & Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. Google AdMob may automatically collect and process certain device information, such as:
Advertising ID (GAID / Google Advertising ID)
Device model, operating system version, and system language
IP address (used for approximate geographic location and fraud prevention)
Interaction metrics with displayed ads

You can manage your personalized ad preferences or reset your Advertising ID anytime in your Android device's system settings under Settings > Google > Ads.

Because StudyBuddy stores your cards and revision records locally:
You retain complete control over your content.
Deleting a flashcard, deck, or audio note permanently deletes it from your device.
Uninstalling the App permanently deletes the local SQLite database and local files, unless you previously exported a backup .txt file.
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. If you believe your child has provided personal information to third-party ad networks through our App, please contact us so we can investigate and address it promptly.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted within the App or on this page with an updated "Effective Date".
