StudyNova ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") provides this Privacy Policy to explain what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using StudyNova you agree to the practices described here.

· Account information: Email address, full name, and profile avatar (if you add one). Used to create and secure your account and let you sign in.
· Content you provide: Documents and PDFs you upload, photos or camera images you scan, text you type, voice/speech input, questions, essays, notes and other study materials you submit to AI features. Used to provide the core study features (text recognition, summaries, flashcards, quizzes, solving, translation, essay help, chat, etc.).
· Voice input: Audio captured while you use speech-to-text. Used to convert your speech into text. Recognition may be performed on your device or by your device's speech service.
· Device & usage data: Time zone, notification permission status, and basic usage counters used for rate-limiting AI requests. Used to schedule reminders/notifications and prevent abuse of AI features.
We do not knowingly collect payment card details, precise GPS location, contacts, or data from children under the age required by your local law.
The App requests these device permissions only for the features that need them, and only when you use them:
· Camera / Photos: to scan or import images and documents for text recognition.
· Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): to capture voice input for speech-to-text.
· Files / Storage: to let you pick and upload PDFs and documents.
· Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): to send study reminders you schedule.
You can revoke any of these permissions at any time in your device settings.
· To provide, maintain and improve StudyNova's features.
· To process the content you submit and return AI-generated results.
· To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
· To send notifications and reminders you have enabled.
· To limit abuse and enforce fair usage of AI features.
To operate the App we share the minimum necessary data with the following providers:
· Supabase (Supabase Inc.): Cloud hosting, database, authentication and file storage. Receives your account info and the content you store in the App.
· Groq (Groq, Inc.): AI processing that powers features such as chat, solving, summaries, flashcards, quizzes, translation and essay help. Receives the text/content you submit to an AI feature at the moment you use it.
· Google ML Kit: On-device text recognition (OCR) from images. Processed on your device; images are not sent to us for this step.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and security commitments. We do not sell your personal information.
We keep your account information and stored content for as long as your account is active. Content sent to AI providers is processed to generate a response and is subject to that provider's retention policy. When you delete your account, we delete the personal data associated with it as described below.
You can delete your account and associated data directly in the App (account/settings), which removes your profile and stored content from our systems. You may also email studynova.support@gmail.com to request deletion. We will action verified requests within a reasonable period.
We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and access controls provided by our hosting partner, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.
StudyNova is intended for students and general users. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below the minimum age of digital consent in their country without appropriate consent. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.
Depending on where you live (e.g. UK/EU under UK GDPR/GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact studynova.support@gmail.com.
Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country, including by the providers listed above. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, through in-app notice.
