I am Michelle Smit, the doctoral/PhD Student behind this study. In 2018-2019 I visited Massey University to conduct a study focusing on physical activity in domestic cats as part of my Master of Science degree. I obtained my degree in Animal Sciences at Wageningen University & Research in the Netherlands in 2020, specialising in animal nutrition and behaviour. Now I am back in New Zealand as a fulltime PhD Student. My PhD study focuses on the use of physical activity monitors in domestic cats to monitor the cat's health, which includes the monitoring of behaviour.
