In the 2020-2021 school year, I had the wonderful opportunity to be the Matsuri Co-Coordinator at UC San Diego which is a joint-annual event between the Japanese Student Association and Nikkei Student Union.
Matsuri at UC San Diego is a Japanese Night Market with food like okonomiyaki, takoyaki, and more, along with games and performances from groups in the community. Every year, Matsuri attracts over 1,500+ people from the San Diego community and is the biggest student-run event on campus.
With virtual classes in session, we moved Matsuri online - recreating the beloved event into a virtual experience and educational + cultural platform that will be used for years to come.
Successfully translated Matsuri at UC San Diego in a virtual environment attracting over 1,500+ interactions through our site.

Had Guest Stars be interviewed in our Matsuri program such as Tiktoker @shotaspov who has a following of over 900K.
