The Studio at Rhode Island Hospital offers a full range of options for medical and scientific visualization, ranging from line drawings to full-color illustrations of anatomic structures and surgical procedures, from 3-D rendering of cellular processes to animations, from informational pamphlets to graphics for grant proposals - and anything in between.
Our team combines artistic skills with scientific accuracy to ensure that your visuals meet the highest standards. It comprises certified medical and scientific illustrators, led by Emily Slapin, BFA, MFA, CMI - each with different backgrounds and particular interests. The Studio is located in the Department of Radiology at Rhode Island Hospital, which allows the use of archival (and deidentified) cross-sectional scans. It also offers unique access to post-acquisition volume- and surface rendering and manipulation of diagnostic images.
