The idea for this project is to create a farmhouse and guesthouse for a family of five in a 1,500 sq. meter plot of land, within a surrounding permaculture food forest.
typology: residential
lot area: 1,528 sq. m
floor area: approx. 400 sq. m
status: schematic phase
scope: design and build
The family has recently aquired a plot of land in the fertile area of Sibonga, in the South of Cebu, grounded in natural materials, regenerative planning, and a deep reading of the land.
Site Analysis. Helps us identify various potencies and constraints that inform the architectural design, as a response to its context.
Views. Taking note of scenic points like these offer opportunities for the architecture to frame the landscape.
Design Concept. Highlighting natural materials such as bamboo and earth, guided by permaculture principles.
3D Site Model. Shows a moderate slope that allows for water flow and natural irrigation.
Masterplan. Separates key buildable and non-buildable areas.
Building Design. Early ideas are conceptualized to be further developed later.
These early explorations set the foundation for a home that grows with the terrain, not against it.
