Come as you are and craft with us. You'll take some small handmade projects home with you and might make some friends along the way. This event is perfect for anyone looking to expand their circle, meet like-minded people, or simply spend an afternoon making and connecting.

A Haiku is a Japanese poetry method that focuses less on rhyme and more on the structure of the text. It limits the amount of syllables you are allowed to use. Because of those limitations the writer is challenged to play with words.

A zine is small and only has so many pages, just like an haiku you are challenged to cut and change details that are too big.

Coincidentally two haiku’s fit perfectly in one zine if you give each sentence one page. All of a sudden the limitations give way for endless opportunities!

In this workshop you learn first how to write and structure a haiku through a theme, feel free to use your own theme, but prompts can also be given.

Then we work on how to make a (A6 sized) zine and lastly how to combine the two through illustration. There will be plenty of different options to illustrate the zine, like collage, pencil/marker drawings, watercolour, paper art etc.

Your mask might be a cat, a goat, a funky creature or a familiar face. That's totally up to you! Once finished, it can become a wall-hanging or even a wearable pin to guard you or a loved one throughout the year. 

No experience needed, just bring your imagination (and your glasses!). At the end we’ll glue the masks with liquid latex, so expect a slightly ammonia-like smell in the studio for a short while. It's not harmful, just not the best smell out there.

All materials are provided, plus snacks and tea to keep us fueled.

Learn how to embroider and create your own design with needle and thread!

Would you like to learn how to embroider? Then this workshop is perfect for you! During the evening, I will teach you the basics of ‘free embroidery’. No experience is needed—everyone can join! You will learn how to transfer a pattern onto fabric, use different embroidery stitches, and start and finish your work neatly. I will also show you how to refine and complete your piece. All materials, including fabric and embroidery thread, will be provided, along with inspiring examples and patterns. Would you like to embroider your own clothing? That’s possible! Feel free to bring a T-shirt, blouse, or pair of trousers. If you use reading glasses, make sure to bring them along.

At the end of the evening, you will take your embroidery piece home along with enough thread to finish it later if needed. Want to join?

Workshop Porcelain Jewelry: BIRD EDITION

Yes! We’ll host a porcelain jewelry workshop again! During this workshop you will make bird pendants from porcelain. Porcelain is a very white and sturdy clay after firing.

Our goal will be to make a pretty set of two pendants for earrings and a pendant for a necklace. You will color and glaze your own work. After the workshop it will be fired and brought back to Studio Boter, most probably within the following week already.

You don’t need any experience with clay, but it will work in your favour if you’re okay working on tiny tiny projects.

Wil je op een bijzondere locatie een bijzonder schets- of opschrijfboekje leren binden? En gebruikmaken van duurzame materialen?

De binding van deze avond is de cahiersteek en we gaan boekjes maken met een inhoud van KHADI papier, dat is handgeschept katoenpapier uit India en is oersterk en heeft een mooie rustieke uitstraling.

Meer info over de materialen die je kunt gebruiken voor het omslag volgt!

Al het gereedschap dat je nodig hebt voor het boekbinden is aanwezig. En er is thee met wat lekkers erbij.
