The purpose of this class is to help young students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds with little to no experience enter the world of programming. The course is designed to be two months long and covers making Sprites and backgrounds, changing Sprite size, position, visibility, and motion, creating animations, making sounds and music, using sensing blocks, writing if-statements and loops, using math functions, and making clones in Scratch. Each class also includes a STEM activity for the week, covering a wide range of STEM topics. This class is a prerequisite for all other SSLV programs.
