Challenge

Periodically, parents and teachers hold formal meetings called parent-teacher conferences to discuss how the child is progressing academically and behaviorally. However most conferences are not student-led and a plethora of information is thrown at parents in no specific order or purpose for sharing a students academics, other than to meet the school mandates.

  • What advice might we give to the teacher about structuring this conference? About getting the student more engaged? What advice would you give the parent? the student?

  • What micro-innovations could we try in upcoming conferences to give the student more voice?
