After getting your consular they will set up a meeting with you and will take you through everything you need to know with getting involved in student loans.

They will teach you the differences between grants, scholarships, and the different types of loans. 

The consular will also get you on a track of a payment plan and to make sure you are on time with your payments and what will happen if you fail to pay on time. 

Lastly the consuler will also try to find any scholarships and grants you are able to apply for in order to help you save the maxium amount of your money.
