The Creative Process

The Beginning

Start with a story — That's the hard bit. Ideas are 2 a penny, but working them into a story can take a lot of hard work or cause them to be rejected and saved for another day. Sometimes, though, they're a gift from a god of creatives or as I call him: Frank.

The Middle

Now comes the picture bit. It's done in 3 parts:

Storyboarding — I create a table like the one opposite and put in the page numbers, the verse, or story for that page, an idea of the images needed, and a sample of images that are needed. I may also edit the words at this point because now they're in a different format they look different.
Build the Images — In the software I use, I create the images for the book.
Build the Book — With the images built, it's time to put them all together into a document and decide on the fonts and colours to use.

The End ...

It never ends. Go back to the beginning and start again.😃
