Teresa S. Landry is an athlete, dancer and coach, with 30+ years experience in the fitness industry.
Why Teresa S. Landry?
Teresa S. Landry has spent 30 years in the fitness industry. Before that, she was a competitive figure skater, USFSA and CFSA gold medal ice dancer, and classically-trained dancer (years of ballet, jazz, Middle Eastern dance, modern dance, Spanish dance, and three years toward a BFA in dance before completing her degree in Business Management). All of this training has given her a somewhat unique approach to fitness, heavily influenced by the meticulous nature of barre exercises mixed with sports psychology and visualization techniques that were popularized in the 80s when she was a competitive athlete.
Teresa is a fitness trainer, coach and videographer who has taught figure skating (freestyle, MIF, and ice dancing), dance, off-ice training, gymnastics (assistant coach), aerobics, stretching, and strength training.
Starting out as a generalist, Teresa ended up specializing in the basic steps and alignment tweaks that often mean the difference between safe movement and re-injury. In a world of high-intensity body imagery, Teresa has chosen to buck the superficial curve and focus on ways to stay active safely, at any size, shape, or age. Today, Teresa’s writings and workouts center on safety and overall wellness strategies.
In addition to overall wellness, Teresa’s personal and professional interests branch into writing, acting, documentary filmmaking, podcasting, homesteading, homeschooling, local-based equitable solutions, transcendental spirituality, and living deliberately. Teresa is currently working toward a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Sedona.
Teresa lives with her husband, John Elden Gibbons, and family in northern New York.
