Last year, in May 2024, I embarked on an internship that was supposed to last for three weeks at Thompson school. All these short-lived but consecutive internships provided nothing but confidence boost, new experience, and a chance to network with new people, all of which will potentially stand me in good stead.

In 2023, in the month of December, I started off my first ever internship that lasted for two weeks only; however, that was when I gained experience, and my interest in teaching and working with people got piqued. Although my time there was transitional, I learned a lot as a teacher.

I embarked on my internship that lasted for more than a month at Rahimov school. My time at there was full of eye-opening experiences. In the
second term of internship, I taught IELTS and put all I learned into practice.
In October 2024, CAU was looking for an experienced general English teacher with a strong command of English. As a student of this university, I immediately seized the opportunity and applied for this position. Employers, however, rigorously selected the candidates; having successfully passed all the stages of the selection process, I was hired and started working as a teacher. For the record, the program was Pre- Foundation— it accepts 10th and 11th graders only and consists of two modules: Delta and Omega. Mine was Omega— I taught students at B1 level, different from the Delta teacher, who taught students at A1-A2. This program filled my bag with experience and confidence and provided an opportunity to put my theoretical knowledge into practice.
In February 2023, I began conducting one-to-one offline IELTS classes with a student, and over the course of a year, the experience proved incredibly enriching. Not only did I apply the methods I had acquired, but I also saw a notable improvement in my own language proficiency. My student, who took the IELTS test in July 2023, achieved a score of 6.0, enabling her to pursue admission to state universities. It brings me great joy to have contributed to her success in achieving this score.
