We're Military Spouses. We're Runners. We're Stroller Warriors.
Stroller Warriors® is a FREE running club for military spouses and their family members. Our mission is to help military families around the world live happier, healthier lives through fitness, friendship, leadership, goal-setting, networking, and community outreach. Our vision is to secure a place for Stroller Warrior chapters in military communities around the world.
HISTORY: Stephanie Geraghty established the first chapter of Stroller Warriors at Camp Lejeune in January 2010. Since then, the organization has grown by thousands and initiated new chapters worldwide! In January 2018, Stephanie retired as the Stroller Warriors CEO. Longtime member and founder of our Okinawa and Quantico chapters, Kelly Mulder, stepped up to the CEO position. Kelly has continued to put her heart into the mission and help build Stroller Warriors to what it is today. In October 2023, Kelly retired as the CEO. Prior coordinator of SW Elsewhere and SW Fort Meade, Jessica Berlin, is the current CEO.
Stroller Warriors evolved out of Stephanie's vision to create a running support group for military spouses. Training partners provide camaraderie and make training more enjoyable and successful. This group fosters new friendships with spouses of common goals and interests. Our sessions provide a playgroup for our children as well. We regularly compete in road races, often as teams, and love to support fundraising efforts for charities.
LOCATIONS: Our chapters are only located at military installations, led by active-duty military spouses. All members that join must have goals of running. However, we also want to reassure you that this group does not demand a certain running pace or standard. We
provide the workout plans and simply ask that you do your best! We promote a positive, comfortable environment for men or women of all ability levels to run together, beginners to marathoners. Children and strollers are not required.
WHAT WE DO: We host workouts at playgrounds and run primarily on trails, which allows us to get in a safe workout. Afterwards, the children enjoy a playgroup at the park while we finish our workout. Standard meeting times are weekday mornings but will vary according to each chapter’s needs. All workouts and events are organized and communicated through our Facebook pages. In addition to workouts, we host a variety of other activities, including social gatherings, play dates, charity projects, races, and more. There’s something for everyone!
If you are interested in joining a Stroller Warriors group, search for "Stroller Warriors" group pages on Facebook
and select the applicable location. If you want to explore starting a chapter at your military installation, please send your inquiry to strollerwarrior@gmail.com.
Thank you and Happy Running!

WE RUN! Our workouts serve as the cornerstone to our mission. We host weekday morning runs and various other fitness-related activities, including but not limited to strength training, dance, yoga, and weekend long runs. Our weekday workouts are planned using time versus distance, so the out-and-back course ensures everyone ends at the same time regardless of pace. With announcements and post-workout play time, members should plan for events to last between 60 and 90 minutes. Children, family, and friends are always welcome and dogs can join as well as long as they are child-friendly and remain on a leash at all times.
PROGRAMS: Our chapters each sponsor special programs to encourage participation, including our mileage incentive campaign to encourage goal setting. Some of our chapters also offer the "Have to Half" Half Marathon Race Series for our longer distance runners and also a "Couch to 5K" and "Couch to Crazy" program to help our beginner runners stick to a training plan and reach goals as a team. We also create program opportunities for our children, including the "Mini Miles" Mileage Campaign, motivating them to emulate their parents and track their own mileage to earn a medal.
FRIENDSHIP: We host a variety of other activities as well, including social gatherings and play dates organized by our "Director of Fun Times." We are always open to adding subgroups to the chapters when a need arises. In the past we've entertained groups such as Prayer Warriors, Book Warriors, Kayak Warriors, Yoga Warriors, and more. We often sponsor meal trains for membership in need.
LEADERSHIP: Since Stroller Warriors is entirely free of charge, we are dependent on our volunteers for club operations. The club offers valuable opportunities for members to step up and provide service to their chapter in their area of expertise. These roles provide them with a sense of ownership for the success of the club, a positive outlet to make a difference, and a means to building experiences and resumes for the future. At year-end, we honor our volunteers with a special gift and all leadership receives recognition upon departure to their new duty station.
SUPPORT: Last but not least, our page provides opportunities to share resources with other military spouses. Our membership rely on each other for finding answers to questions related to running, parenting, or military life in general. Our membership even reach out to other chapters upon moving to ask questions and make preparations. This ensures an easier transition and a ready-made family with Stroller Warriors upon arrival. Our membership feel comfortable to reach out to their fellow military spouses in the event of an emergency. We're not just fellow runners; we treat each other as family.
Our organization is managed through group Facebook pages. If you live near one of these chapters or are moving there soon, and have a legitimate interest in participating, we encourage you to click the appropriate link on our Chapters page and request to join! It's as easy as that!
Please allow up to 3 business days for your request to be processed. The welcome staff will tag you on a post for you to read or send you a message that will likely show up in your "Other" Facebook inbox. (Note: Sometimes these messages do no show up on mobile devices.) That message will answer a lot of your questions. Always feel free to reach out to the chapter coordinators and their leadership staff if you have additional questions or ideas. Take some time to explore the page and see what the chapter has to offer. Jump right in!
If you are not a member of Facebook, we have two suggestions for participation:
1) Create a virtually empty profile page just to access our chapter page.
2) Ask a friend for information on events.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this presents. Facebook has proven to be the easiest and most advanced tool at our disposal to accomplish our mission, free of cost.
