String Tension: Racquet Meter — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-11
This app is built to respect your privacy. We do not sell your personal data, and
your content stays on your device. This policy explains the limited data the app uses.
INFORMATION THE APP USES
- microphone input (used only to listen to your racquet or instrument string pluck so the app can measure its vibration frequency and estimate string tension). The audio is analyzed in real time on your device and is never recorded to a file, saved, or uploaded. The app does not use the camera or your location.
- anonymous diagnostics and crash reports (via Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics) to keep the app stable.
- an advertising identifier and related data used by Google AdMob to show ads. On iOS, the app asks for your permission via App Tracking Transparency (ATT) before any tracking, and uses Google's UMP consent flow to honor GDPR/EEA choices. You can decline tracking and the app keeps working with non-personalized ads.
HOW IT IS USED
The string pluck is captured through the microphone and its fundamental frequency is
computed on-device to estimate tension; only the resulting numeric readings (frequency,
tension, and the date) are stored, and only on your device. We use the data above only
to provide the app's features, to keep the app stable, and (with your consent) to show
ads. We do not build advertising profiles ourselves and we do not upload your content
to our servers.
DATA RETENTION & YOUR CONTROL
Your saved readings, racquet profile, and settings are stored on your device and are
removed when you delete the app. You can revoke microphone or tracking permissions at
any time in the iOS Settings app; the app will continue to work with reduced features.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The app may use: Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics) and Google AdMob (ads).
Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies.
CHILDREN
This app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal
information from children.
