"Loop"

On a random day in late October, it began to snow in Massachusetts. This was in the midst of quarantine, where it took a special circumstance to want to venture outside by myself. The snow, however, did the trick. I walked to the park and saw a patch of slush that I wanted to track my feet across. The result was this, a back-and-forth pattern that doesn't seem to adhere to beginnings or endings. This is a visual example of how I felt during quarantine, moving through the same dull events day after day, turning myself around just to find the same day happening again.

This photo was taken in Seabrook Beach, NH, where my grandmother owns a beach house that she rents out during the summer. Every night, my siblings and I would meet up with the renter's kids and skate around the beach neighborhood. One night, we decided to skate over near an electricity plant, and one of the renter's kids got her board stuck under a bush. While trying to pull it out, I found a small statue of an angel hiding among the leaves and blades of grass. That summer would be the last time we would see the renter's kids, and this photo reminds me of our precious time with them.
