The reason that we used strawberry carbonated drink is because it has been sold in many stores. So it is easy for us to find different brands of strawberry carbonated drinks like Fanta, F&N, Mirinda and many that we can find in convenience stores. The uv-visible spectrophotometer is used in this project to determine the ascorbic acid in strawberry carbonated drinks.

Strawberry has a rich contain of ascorbic acid or commonly said Vitamin C. Now, strawberries have been extracted or innovated in many things like juice, dairy and bakery goods Murtaza et al (2004). Vitamin C is needed for our bodies to make a collagen of substances that are important for the health and repair of our skin, bones, teeth and cartilage Desai(2019). In this project we need to determine the ascorbic acid in strawberry carbonated drinks within Fanta, F&N and Mirinda. We used uv-visible spectrophotometer because it can detect many compounds. But unfortunately, it is not sensitive equipment because it only absorbs light over a short path length. To confirm the presence of ascorbic acid in the beverages, a quantitative analysis was carried out Vishnikin(2019).
