Welcome to Stranly. Your privacy and security are our top priorities. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use our mobile application. By using Stranly, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
To provide and maintain our service, we collect two main categories of information:
Information You Provide: When you set up your profile, we collect necessary data for the app to function, such as your declared age, gender, an anonymous identifier, and your matching preferences for the radar feature. If you choose to link your Google account for account recovery and data protection, we collect your email address and unique Google User ID. Your email address is kept strictly confidential, is used solely for authentication purposes, and is never displayed to other users.
Automatically Collected Information: We collect technical information about your device, including your IP address, device model, operating system, and a unique hardware identifier (Device ID). We also collect anonymized statistical data about your app usage (e.g., levels, XP, frequency of use).
Stranly is built on privacy. All text messages, photos, videos, and audio files sent through private chats are protected by End-to-End Encryption (E2EE).
What this means: Content is encrypted on your device and can only be decrypted by the recipient's device. We do not hold the decryption keys, we cannot read your messages, and we do not analyze them. Messages pass through our servers in an unreadable format solely for the time necessary for delivery.
We use the collected data (excluding private messages) to:
Operate the radar algorithm and connect you with compatible users.
Ensure the safety of the platform by identifying and blocking (banning) the devices of users who violate our Terms of Service.
Deliver relevant advertisements through third-party ad networks.
Improve the user interface and overall experience by analyzing aggregated usage statistics.
Facilitate account recovery and secure your data across devices if you choose to link a third-party authentication account (e.g., Google).
If you choose to purchase Premium features or subscriptions, the payment is securely processed directly by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Stranly does not collect, view, or store your credit card information or banking details in any way.
We do not sell your personal data. We only share your information under the following circumstances:
Service Providers & Advertising: We may share technical identifiers (such as your device's Advertising ID) with third-party advertising partners to serve ads.
Legal Obligations: We may disclose connection logs or device identifiers if strictly required by a court order, subpoena, or law enforcement request. We reiterate that the contents of encrypted messages remain unreadable to us and cannot be provided.
Cloud Hosting & Authentication Services: We use trusted third-party service providers (such as Supabase and Google) to securely host our database, manage encrypted media storage, and handle user authentication (OAuth). These providers are bound by strict data processing agreements.
Depending on your location, under applicable data protection laws (such as GDPR in Europe or CCPA in California), you have the right to:
Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
Request the permanent deletion of your account and associated data.
Opt-out of data processing for marketing or ad profiling purposes (typically manageable through your iOS or Android device settings).
To request the deletion of your data and account, you can send an email to stranly.app@gmail.com specifying your device identifier, user details, or the email address you linked to your Google account. All associated data, including your profile, matches, and encrypted media, will be permanently removed within 30 days of the request.
Stranly is strictly restricted to users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we discover that a minor has created an account, we will take immediate steps to delete the account and all associated data.
