Coloring or color correction/grading is a fundamental aspect of editing :)
I'm not gonna write long paragraphs, but to introduce them, they refer to the process of adjusting the colors and tones of videos or images to achieve a desired aesthetic.
A lot of individuals make their custom cc, while some others use cc overlays, like me. Some also use presets too idk 🕯️⋆⭒˚。⋆
Nice example over here heheh i like it (credits to @learnitinstitute) ⭑ *ੈ✩‧₊˚𖤐
For a lot of apps, there are color adjustments, which often include settings like exposure, brightness, contrast, saturation, shadows, and a lot more.
There are also settings that allow you to customize the extent of certain colors. This includes coloring graphs, HSL adjustments, RGB maps, those color wheel things idk, etc.
Adding a gradient overlay (dark for the bottom and lighter at the top) creates depth and clarity.
Adding effects like glow or vignette can also enhance the quality.
Exposure: Controls the lightness of the media, without immensely affecting the dark areas
Brightness: Overall light levels in the image.
Contrast: Enhances the difference between light and dark areas.
Shadows: Recovers details in dark areas.
Highlights: Prevents over-brightness in light areas.
Saturation: Increase or decrease to achieve the desired vibrancy.
Temperature: Modify the warmth or coolness of the image. (yellow to blue)
Sharpen: sharpens the edges for a crisper look (it also enhances quality)
Tint: Adjusts overall color balance. (its sometimes the purple to green one idk)
Vignette: Darken or lighten the edges of an image
Vibrance: Boost less saturated colors without affecting already vibrant ones
Gamma: Adjust midtone brightness without altering highlights and shadows
Grain: Adds a noise texture
Fade: Reduce contrast and saturation
Whites: Control the brightness of the lightest areas.
Blacks: Adjust the darkness of the shadow areas.
Clarity: Enhance midtone contrast
HSL adjustments are utilized to change the Hue, saturation, and lightness for specific colors. They appear in the settings of various apps, like AE, Capcut, etc.
CC presets are the colorings that other people made. They could be settings or images like the ones below. To apply the overlay image, change the blending mode to OVERLAY and you can also adjust the opacity (optional). If you want the CC overlays to be in a different color, apply the HUE SHIFT effect.
The setting ones are at the bottom. You will have to apply it by following the color grading/correction settings.

(I usually also add a gradient white to black overlay too. I made it in my editing app, so it's not a preset.)
