All attempts must be completed and submitted between November 1 and midnight on November 30.
An attempt is valid only if at least one other league player (besides the one making the attempt) is present to monitor and referee the attempt. Players are encouraged to complete attempts at the same time as other players.
All players present are responsible for ensuring all rules are followed.
All ball fouls must be called as per usual league custom.
A single "attempt" consists of ten (10) innings.
Each inning is a new try, starting with the setup below.
The scores from all 10 innings are added together to get the player's "Total Score" for that attempt.
Rack: Start with 14 balls racked, leaving the head spot open.
Break Ball (15th Ball): The shooter places the 15th ball (the "break ball") anywhere on the table, as long as it meets these conditions:
It is not within a two-ball-diameter distance of the rack.
It is not within a two-ball-diameter distance of any pocket.
It is beyond the headstring (on the rack side of the table).
Cue Ball:
Standard Placement: The shooter may place the cue ball anywhere behind the headstring.
Alternate Placement: Players with starting goals below 50 have the additional option to place the cue ball on the center spot instead of behind the headstring.
An inning try continues until the player fouls, misses a second time, or pockets all 15 balls.
A foul at any time ends the inning. The player's score for that inning is the number of balls pocketed before the foul.
Play continues after one miss, with the cue ball played from its position at the conclusion of the missed shot.
The inning's score is determined as follows:
STRIKE (20 Points): The shooter pockets all 15 balls without any misses or fouls.
(15 points for balls + 5 bonus points)
SPARE (15 Points): The shooter pockets all 15 balls but has exactly one miss.
(15 points for balls, no bonus)
OPEN INNING (1-14 Points):
If the shooter fouls, the inning ends. The score is the number of balls pocketed.
If the shooter misses a second time, the inning ends. The score is the total number of balls pocketed.
Example: Player makes 5 balls, misses (1st miss). Player then shoots from where the cue ball ends up after the miss, makes 8 more balls, and misses (2nd miss). The inning ends. The score for the inning try is 5 + 8 = 13.
Total Raw Score: A player's scores from their 10 innings are added up. Total raw scores should be reported on the online submission form available on the league website.
Starting Goal: This is the player's official goal at the beginning of the current season.
Final Weighted Score: The final weighted score is calculated with this formula:
Final Weighted Score = Total Raw Score * (150 / Starting Goal)
1st Place: The player with the highest Final Weighted Score wins 70% of the final pot.
2nd Place: The player with the second-highest Final Weighted Score wins 30% of the final pot.
Current league membership is required to participate. Each registered league member receives one (1) free entry.
A $50 guaranteed pot is provided by the league.
Subsequent entries cost $5 each. All entry fees are added directly to the pot.
If you start a subsequent attempt, you are committing to recording its score and paying the $5 entry fee for that attempt. Failure to comply will result in disqualification from future, similar competitions.
