Who Are We?

St. Peter's Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. "Evangelical" means "Good News," and it is our mission and ministry to share the "Good News" of God's love for all creation through Jesus Christ by our words and actions. 


Our service consists of singing, reading scripture, praying, and preaching as well as receiving holy communion on the 1st Sunday of the month and on designated other Sundays. We offer two large screens at the front of the sanctuary to follow along during worship. Services are recorded and can be viewed anytime on our Youtube page.


Our Mission Statement is "Walking with Jesus, Sharing God's Love."

Hello, I am Pastor Kristen Schmid, and I am very blessed to serve at St. Peter’s. I began in early 2021 after graduating from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago.

My first career was in photography; I enjoyed listening to people’s stories and trying to create understanding between them and others through images. In ministry, I am privileged to share the good news of how God’s gracious love for us, shown through Jesus, connects to all of our stories.

I have lived in the Midwest for over 20 years (including a year in Jasper, IN), but actually grew up in northern California. I now live in Logansport with my husband and two sons.

I hope to welcome you in worship, in-person or online, sometime soon! God’s peace.
