St Pauls Church Hall is a community facility maintained by St Pauls Church and the Shepley Parochial Church Council, a charity under the Charities Act 2011. Donations & income from hall bookings help to cover the rising energy bills you can expect from heating such large buildings such as the church and the hall 🌡️

🪟Window repairs
3 broken windows due to be repaired in the coming weeks costing the church £400
🏠 Roof repairs
We will continue to apply for small grants and patch fix the roof (shout out to RST!) but to futureproof the hall, we need a whole new roof! Due to the size of the building this is expected to cost 8x a domestic roof so we expect to tackle this in phases starting with the kitchen and the small hall before moving to the main hall roof. Any help fundraising, applying for grants, anything you can think of and any time you could spare - would be hugely appreciated to keep the hall open for community use for future generations
🎭 Stage & curtains
We're currently lacking a structure for backstage & wing curtains - the full bells and whistles quote for a futureproof structure was around 6k. Any local joiners or buildings that could fashion something a lot cheaper, even as a temporary measure for Rebel's Christmas show - we really need your help!
We would also love to update the curtains for the 8 large main hall windows, and 2 small hall windows.
🍽 Kitchen upgrade
The hall kitchen needs a full refit - we have secured a small grant but need assistance or more funding for ripping out the old kitchen, electrics, plumbing, tiling, flooring!
🪑 Small hall furniture
Kids table and chairs refresh - we'd love to update the smaller tables and chairs, only the older chairs currently fit under the tables! We've seen some folding and height adjustable tables which would be brilliant, they are £60 per table. Still looking for a good deal on around 30 new stackable small children's chairs
🪞 Flooring & plastering
After a repaired leak last year, the entryway is in need of some plastering! As a high traffic area the carpet in the entrance needs replacing with something more durable, as does the small hall. The main hall floor and stage floor will need revitalising through professional sanding and resealing in the next few years.
🌳Outside Space
The space at the back of the hall is bigger than it looks when cleared and ideal for outdoor seating & planting - if you have an idea for utilising this space for the community please get in touch. Perhaps a micro allotment for those of us on the waiting list!
🆘Items needed
A new vacuum and any cleaning equipment/products to help us keep the hall clean for our regular & party users
A new microwave as we have two but one is currently out of order!
