CONTEST RULES AND INFORMATION:
1 Entry Per Category Per Person!
Contestants must be amateurs, not professional cooks or bakers.
There is no fee for entering.
This contest is open to bakers of all ages.
Submissions must be homemade, including pie crust (not store bought).
All entries must be prepared in a sanitary manner.
All entries must be fully baked and complete upon entry and not require refrigeration.
Each entry should be marked with the Category (Pies, Cakes, Miscellaneous) and name of your entry, not including your name. Your name will be recorded separately when you arrive with your entry.
Preregistration by September 21 is preferred. See registration form.
Entries MUST be delivered between 9:00 AM and 9:30 AM to the Apple Baking Contest Table. At this time your entry will be given an entry number, maintaining confidentiality of the entrants. Anything after 9:30 AM will not be accepted.
Judging will start at 10:00 AM. Judges will not be present at the contest area while entries are being delivered to ensure confidentiality of the entrants.
Judging area will be off limits to all but the Judges and Contest Committee members.
There will be a minimum of 3 judges for each category.

Presentation
Aroma
Taste
Texture
Overall Use of Apple
Each Judge will assign a numerical value from 1-10 in each criteria category, without consultation with the other Judges.
The entry receiving the highest total numerical value will be the winner in each category.
In case of a tie, the Judges will judge those entries again.
The decision of the Judges will be final.
Winners will be announced after the judging is completed. You do not have to be present to win
After prizes are given, the remains of the entries will be sliced and sold to the public at $1 per tasting plate of 3 items.
*Your entry authorizes the Baking Contest Committee to take photos of winners and entries to be used in promotional materials.
