StoryDistiller aims to automatically generate the storyboard for Android apps with rich kinds of features through reverse engineering, and assist different roles to review and analyze apps efficiently. Specifically, StoryDistiller (1) extracts the Activity transition graph (ATG) of Android apps by leveraging static program analysis techniques; (2) extracts required ICC data to render UI pages (i.e., activities) by analyzing the attributes and parameters of the target activity; (3) renders UI pages dynamically by using instrumentation techniques together with the extracted ICC data; (4) obtains rich features of apps including semantic activity names, GUI components with their attributes (i.e., Button with text label and size), layout code, etc. (5) implements the storyboard visualization as a web service with the rendered UI pages and corresponding rich features.
