You’ve read about Rama’s story in the Ramayana. You read about what happened to Kaikeyi and Sita, and you’ve read about how Rama felt when he rescued Sita. You’ve also read the Mahabharata and learned of Draupadi and how she stood up for hersef after being wagered. But have you ever wondered what these other characters felt, specifically the women? Did you ever wonder what they felt as life just happened to them? Where did they go, where did they end up? Are they disappointed in the way things turned out? Would they go back and change the events? Lucky for you, you are in the right place! Here you’ll learn about the perspective of the women in these classic tales. We will be featuring three special women on our channel. We hope you will welcome Kaikeyi, Sita, and Draupadi! Here, you’ll hear from them personally, because we’ve invited them to our channel to tell you their stories, stories that maybe no one has heard before! Make sure you’re subscribed and have your notifications turned on, because you are not going to want to miss these exclusive interviews!
Throughout the Ramayana and the Mahabharata the perspective of the women are almost nonexistent. I figured writing stories in which they describe what they felt would give them a voice they didn't really have. The types of stories you can expect to see are more conversational. They will be asked questions and then they will answer, very much like an interview. I drew inspiration from a previous student, because I absolutely loved that she gave these women a voice. I thought it was ingenious and wanted to create new stories in their perspectives because I think having a woman’s perspective is just as important as having a man’s. I’m planning on writing three different stories, so there will be three interviews (back and forth conversation) in which each woman I mentioned above will tell their side of the story.
