About

After growing up with standard poodles on a farm in Western Canada, Phillipa Gill returned to the pure bred dog world in 2007 by adopting retired show dogs. Since 2013 she has been participating in conformation dog shows and other dog sports (when time permits). She currently shows and occasionally breeds standard poodles using the prefix "Story Book" (AKC temp. reg'd).

2023 was a big year for Robert!

Robert was shown by his best friend and handler Rebecca Arch in 2023 finishing the year as America's #4 Standard Poodle (all breed points). Along the way he won multiple all breed best in shows and multiple specialty best in show awards. We are beyond proud of what this dog has done!

Story Book Poodles had an incredible time at PCA 2021. After a long wait Robert [CHIC#153536, pedigree link] made his return to the show ring and finished his championship by going Reserve Winners Dog and Best Bred By Exhibitor Standard Poodle! Thank you to judge Daniel Augustus for these exciting wins!

Story Book @ Westminster Meet the Breeds 2020

Nina the toy poodle returned to NYC to greet her fans at the Westminster Meet the Breeds event. This was Robert the standard poodle's first time at meet the breeds. He was a natural.

Story Book @ Poodle Club of America 2019

Robert and Ruth (pink and blue collar puppy from the Nov 8 litter) made their show debut in the 4-6 month class at Poodle Club of America. Robert was Best of Variety and Ruth showed lovely with our friend Vania.

Story Book @ Westminster Meet the Breeds 2019

It is becoming something of a tradition for Story Book Poodles to participate in the "Meet the Breeds Event" prior to the Westminster Dog show. Nina the toy poodle loves coming out to meet all the people who come to see the different breeds.
