The boat first started with a concept depicted below.
Then the frame of the boat was constructed using cardboard in which the horizontal layers were cut out and then connected with carboard pieces similar to corrugation, various stages of the boat's development can be seen below.
Then using a spray adhesive, a layer of white paper was attached to the frame. Then that was covered with the selected pieces as to cover the white space as seen bellow.
In addition to including clippings from Drift, we also included sections from several newspapers detailing the perils of migrant journeys.
