Mission of Organization

The Stop Canned Food Organization aims to educate society about the harmful effects of eating canned food and promote healthier alternatives. Organization members can engage in door-to-door awareness, presentations, & YouTube videos to bring awareness to our cause. The second goal of this organization is to raise money for charity, specifically the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, and American Diabetes Association. By donating money to these charities, we hope to support the fight against chronic disease.

Founder's Note

My name is Anjali Agrawal and I am currently a twelfth-grader at Harmony School of Innovation-Sugar Land. I am concerned about a major problem in our society: the increasing number of people using canned food. I believe that it is necessary to educate our community about the negative health effects of consuming canned food.

I am extremely passionate about helping people, and my passion can be traced back to the two most influential events of my life. Over the span of five years, two of my immediate family members were diagnosed with cancer. These two incidents caused me to wonder why so many people, no matter what their age is and where they live, are diagnosed with long-term illnesses such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and so on. I realized that it is the changing lifestyle we lead that is causing all of this. Basically, we are the cause of our own problems.

One common aspect of the modern lifestyle is canned food. Almost every other household uses canned food, including those that can afford fresher foods. They may not realize it, but diet can greatly influence the body's health and well-being. Over the summer between eighth grade and ninth grade, I decided to do some research, and I was right. Multiple studies have proven that canned food can cause heart disease, cancer, botulism, diabetes, obesity, infertility, asthma, and the list keeps going on and on.

I want everyone to see the research I have done through this website. Canned food may be convenient and cheap, but isn't a life worth more than a can? This website will help you make the right decision.
