Stony Brook Elementary Science Fair
March 23, 2024
Calling our All Star young scientists! It's time for the Stony Brook Elementary School annual science fair!
All students are encouraged to participate by working on a science project at home, and presenting it proudly at the Science Fair for the Stony Brook community to see. This site provides everything you need to know about the science fair, and other helpful resources.
Our science fair is non-competitive. Our goal is to encourage scientific exploration and discovery and promote a deep lifelong passion for science. Each participant will have an opportunity to briefly present their work in person on March 23rd, and to their class during the following week.
As an alternative to the traditional science fair project, Mrs. Hammill will be offering an in-person STEM Challenge this year! This is a great option for families who cannot complete a science project at home. Students can participate during their designated science fair time 9am-10am for PreK-2nd grade and 11am-12pm for 3rd-5th grade. Details on the STEM project will be shared upon arrival at the Science Fair in the school Science Lab. All materials will be provided. Students simply need to show up on time with their enthusiasm for problem solving!
Space is limited to 15 students per session. Sign up using the registration button above.
Student must choose either the at-home project or in-school STEM Challenge. They cannot do both.

Students are welcome to share a demonstration of their project as long as it is safe to do so. Please note: Students and their families are responsible for setup and *clean up* of their demonstration.
Any special accommodations required for your project, especially access to electrical outlets, must be made in advance of the Science Fair so we can position you appropriately in an area with power access.
