ABOUT THE CLUB

Aurora, IL | Tucked away among fast disappearing cornfields and expanding country roads in the western suburbs of Chicago is a quiet escape from the busy world - Stonebridge Country Club. This 168 acre picturesque location features rolling terrain with woods that include mature oak trees and sparkling lakes and streams. At Stonebridge, you will find one of the most breathtaking settings in the Midwest as a backdrop to our championship golf course designed by famed architect Tom Fazio, clubhouse, pool, and racquet amenities.

Built in 1989, the course plays 7,200 yards from the championship tees (Rating 73.1, Slope 136) and 5,285 yards from the forward tees (Rating 71.0, Slope 124), offering a challenge to golfers of all skill levels. Stands of oak trees, creeks, ponds and native grasses are utilized in Fazio's design that maximizes the natural beauty of the setting while creating 18 distinctly different holes.

Throughout the racquet season, members enjoy a full schedule of tennis and pickle ball tournaments, mixers, and social events ranging from club championship tournaments for individuals and doubles to the annual Davis Cup. Social events such as Margarita Mixers have become a monthly club tradition in which members enjoy.

Member dining is enjoyed both indoor and outdoors under the majestic oak trees. The indoor dining areas were recently renovated for a more modern feel which also highlights the stunning views.

The pool is surrounded by mature oak trees and which allow patrons to be shaded or in open spaces to enjoy the sun. The Cabana provides pool-side service with a full bar so members and guests never need leave their spot in the pool or chair.

Stonebridge received national attention as it hosted both the PGA Ameritech Senior Open from 1991-1995, and the LPGA Kellogg-Keebler Classic from 2002-2004. Among the past winners of these events were Hale Irwin, George Archer, Annika Sorenstam and Karrie Webb. Stonebridge was also the host of the 2021 Illinois Open.

RECENT/FUTURE IMPROVEMENTS

Recent - Added Visage GPS to each golf cart in 2021; Better Billy Bunkers installed in 2019; Added 12 new tee boxes in 2020 which added 300 yards to the total length of the course; Clubhouse renovated in member dining spaces.

Future - The Club is in the middle of a comprehensive Strategic Planning process that includes a Facility Master Plan that will be brought to membership vote in 2023.


POSITION OVERVIEW

Reports To: General Manager


Stonebridge Country Club, located in Aurora Illinois is searching for a leader who has an engaging personality and collaborative management style to serve as Sales & Marketing Director. He/she will report to the General Manager and must upgrade the club's social media strategy as well as promote the club through all social media platforms. The Sales & Marketing Director will oversee the entire communication of the club which include, but are not limited to the club website, email marketing platform, CRM, and social media platforms. He/she will formulate respectful relationships with all department heads, members, and guests and will communicate with the General Manager daily on the current prospect pipeline.


It is anticipated that the new hire will start on or after February 1, 2023.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Meet or exceed annual Membership sales plan per budget requirements by following Sales Standards/Best Practices.

  • Responsible for the development and execution of club prospecting/marketing plan targeting all membership market segments (Golf, Tennis, Social, House) quarterly and annually. Follow up, measure, and execute. Make changes as necessary.

  • Owns all member communications whether through email marketing, text messages, or mobile app push notifications.

  • Manages all club social media platforms and promotes the club through platforms through posts that are on-brand. Responds to direct messages through club social media platforms timely.

  • Responsible for the administration of the club website and mobile app. Maintains the website and mobile app for current and relevant information. Keeps the website consistent with the club’s brand.

  • Provides leadership as a key member of the Stonebridge Membership Committee and runs monthly meetings of the Membership Committee.

  • Utilizes networking inside and outside the club to obtain leads and build relationships with prospects and existing Members.

  • Ensures that established procedures listed in Club Bylaws, Rules & Regulations, and Membership Policy are consistently followed and assists prospective members in fulfilling all membership procedures.

  • Establishes and follows procedure for member processing; initiates proper administration of new members in the club management system and that initiation and all applicable fees are collected and that new members understand the privileges and costs of becoming a member.

  • Maintains records concerning membership including the Membership list and Member Dues Forecast.

  • Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of all member information.

  • Maintains and updates the Member Redemption List continuously.

  • Conducts orientation programs for new members and sends new member announcements.

  • Processes all new members, member upgrades, member downgrades, and resignations in the club management system.

  • Serves on applicable club committees to assure members’ interests are consistently addressed.

  • Manage all sales activity, utilizing the company’s CRM system and continually updating the CRM.

  • Implements all processes, programs and procedures relating to prospective members, membership applications, new member orientation program and club tours.

  • Communicates all membership changes to Stonebridge department heads.

  • Conducts bi-annual competitive marketing analysis for development of strategies for attracting new members to the club.

  • Implements and supports all company initiatives and programs as requested by management.

  • Follows Bylaws, Rules & Regulations, and Membership Policy and effectively communicates with prospective members, current members, and Club team members.

  • Attends all staff meetings as established by the General Manager. Works closely with the entire staff at the club to ensure the Membership recruitment is a top priority.



The Sales & Marketing Director is expected to manage their time at the Club to maximize the sales output and communications of the club, while also paying attention to their personal life, and realize the importance of both.


Requirements/Attributes

  • College degree preferred.

  • Private club experience preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 Years Sales & Marketing experience is preferred.

  • Strong social media marketing skills and experience

  • Detail oriented communications skills

  • Outgoing personality which can connect with private club members and guests.

  • Knowledge and experience with private country golf operations financial practices and budget management.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, efficiently and often with members, staff, General Manager.

  • A willing collaborator who will work to enhance the image and brand of the Club.


SALARY & BENEFIT DETAILS (per club policy)

  • Non-commissioned position

  • Base Salary Range is $55,000 - $65,000

  • Bonus Incentive of up to $25,000 based on achieving membership adds and surpassing budgeted membership revenue

  • Medical – Club pays percentage

  • Dental – Club pays percentage

  • Vision – Club pays percentage

  • PCMA Membership Dues paid by club

  • Travel and expenses related to education

  • Clothing Allowance

  • Simple IRA with up to 3% match
