On March 10, 2026, the Town of Stockport resolved to adopt the NYS Climate Smart Communities Pledge.
At a Town Board meeting on April 2, 2026, the Town of Stockport Climate Smart Task Force was established with Supervisor Murell appointing the following members:
John Leone – Councilman, Town of Stockport
Donald Meltz – Community Member, Columbia County CSC Task Force Coordinator
Susan Helden - Community Member, MSc in Environmental Economics
Summer Meyer - Community Member, MA in Public Administration in Sustainable Management
Pik Berwick - Community Member
Sara Lawson - Community Member (appointed July 7, 2026)
Our mission is to promote and support climate mitigation and adaption in the Town of Stockport and support the Stockport Town Board on initiatives that protect the town's environmental and economic resources, reduce energy costs. We aim to build a more resilient and sustainable future where all our community members are invited to participate and feel at home.
