Course information

Each semester Stockholm Business School offers a number of courses in English for undergraduate and graduate students visiting us for exchange. The list of courses is available with the online application once you have been nominated by your home university.

Swedish for beginners

Exchange students are offered language and culture courses in Swedish at several different levels. For more information, please visit the Department of Scandinavian Languages. Students interested in these courses will be able to register Swedish language courses once they are here during Orientation Day at Stockholm University.

Courses taught in Swedish

Exchange students are not able to study courses in Swedish at Stockholm Business School.

Buddy program

The Business Student Association (Föreningen Ekonomerna) organised a buddy program called Fadderiet at the start of every semester which matches up international and Swedish students for a variety of social events, including dinners, sightseeing, an international cruise, and more. This is a great way for exchange students to get to know Swedish students and the city of Stockholm. The events are generally well-perceived and sometimes there are only a limited number of spots available, so be sure tor register for each event as soon as possible. More information about the Buddy program will be sent to you closer to the time of your arrival.

Comments from previous students regarding the courses:

• You should definitely try and take the Swedish Culture course offered through Stockholm University and then take courses through the business school. If possible, take two courses through the business school period 1 and 2, and then the Swedish Culture course spanning periods 1 and 2. I enjoyed the Swedish Culture course because we got to go to two museums for free!
• Grading was quite tough and all of their classes are very literature heavy with an expectation of quite a lot of work outside of class, but the exams were pretty easy.
• Course registrations were done through the international coordinators. The courses were listed on the info sheet. The classes were confirmed prior to arrival. The process was easy, but the exact guidelines of the requirements were tough to understand until arrival. The course itself was very informative and I remained engaged throughout the semester.
