Each student comes to the library on their assigned day. Students spend 50 minutes in the library for instruction, read-a-loud, book checkout and often times Maker Space activities. Book checkout for each grade level are as follows:

• Kindergarten - 2 books
• 1st and 2nd grade - 3 books
• 3rd grade - 4 books
• 4th and 5th grade - 5-6 books

Additional books are permitted on an "as needed" basis for special projects or teacher requests.

All students are welcome to come to the library during open checkout throughout the week as new books are needed. The schedule for open checkout is posted in each classroom, as well as on the library doors. Typically, open checkout occurs M-R from 8:30 - 12:30, and Friday if our clerk is present.

Fines: If a student loses or damages a book, a fine will be assessed based on the current replacement value of the same book.

*For each late/lost/damaged book, the number of books allowed for checkout decreases by one. Once books are returned, or fines are paid, students can resume check out their normal allotment of books.

Special events that occur in our Stocker Library throughout the year include:

• Reading nights in Fall and Spring
• Scholastic Book Fair during Fall and Spring conferences, and our BOGO fair the last week of school
• STEAM night in the Spring
• Open House visitation with the Kenosha Public Library
