Lynne’s Lenten Lockdown Challenge

To climb the Three Peaks

In aid of St Mary’s Building project?

Over the 40 days of Lent Lynne will be climbing the Three Peaks of Yorkshire - Whernside (736m), Ingleborough (723m) and Pen-y-ghent (694m). However, because of lockdown, Lynne will be doing it on her stairs. This means that she will have to climb the stairs 18 times a day, every day, for 40 days

That’s over 20,000 stairs!

Why? - that’s the question Lynne will be asking herself for the next 40 days- to raise money to help fund St Mary’s building project that aims to improve a community building, so that it is more accessible; used by more people; easier to enable social distancing; provides better hospitality and is greener to run.

You can donate online at

Alternatively you can sign-up on the form at the back of church.

Can you help Lynne reach her target of £500?

Update 21st February: Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far. At the moment I'm 240m up Whernside with another 494m to go before I reach the summit. I'm not sure if the creaking sound that I can hear is coming from the stairs or from my knees!
