Wellacre Country Park

Twenty of us explored Wellacre Country Park, a little-known part of Flixton. Beginning at the picturesque Dutton’s Pond, tree-lined paths took us to more open countryside where friends were made with a field full of horses. A circuit of Green Hill then allowed us to view the rear of the biomass plant at Carrington form where we completed the walk on Ambleside Road. Several of us then went on to the Church Inn at Flixton for refreshment, the weather being kind enough for us to sit outside.
