Programs

At St. John's Children's Center, the Ones classroom places a strong emphasis on social, emotional, and physical development. Play-based learning is the basis of this classroom. We introduce a school schedule for children of this age, helping them transition from babyhood to toddlerhood. Through play, the Ones experience music, art, outside time, sensory activities, colors, and more. A weekly "Chapel Time" is started in the Ones room, as well, where our Reverend comes in to read and sing bible stories.

The Twos classroom at St. John's Children's Center marks the beginning of our Preschool Program, helping to prepare children for their future. In this classroom, play is the main focus, but teachers start to incorporate learning things such as colors, the alphabet, animals, and more. Many activities are hands-on, helping children become more involved in their learning experience. Our Two's teacher works with parents to begin the potty training stage, as well. This classroom introduces going to the St. John's Episcopal Chruch's chapel for "Chapel Time" with our Reverend.

Our oldest children at St. John's Children's Center are in the Threes classroom, a room designed to prepare children for VPK. Our Three's classroom closely resembles a traditional preschool classroom. The Threes further develop their fine motor, social/emotional, and early literacy skills. They also learn things such as name spelling, counting, writing, and more. Like our other classrooms, they learn through play and sensory experiences. The Threes also participate in weekly "Chapel Time" with our Twos.
