An evening presentation of sacred paintings, icons, and imagery. Welcome along for a surprising Art History 101 and learn about techniques. No painting tonight; this is time to plan your subject and process. Choose a figure and consider your composition. Are there any symbols you'd like to include?

We will go step by step and make an underpainting using acrylics. About 2 hours. This type of paint will dry quickly, in time for our next get together.

Making our paintings sing. We will go step by step to bring our images to life using acrylic or oil paints. About 2.5 hours. Oil paint dries slowly. Acrylics might be easier for beginners. The idea is to keep the paintings in Murray Hall until they are dry and ready to be picked up.

The fee is $50 and supports The Big Bend Episcopal Mission. Materials will be provided. If you have acrylics, oils, brushes, and palettes you are welcome to bring them. The class is welcoming to any level of visual art experience.
