My Mission

Hi! My name is Elan, and I'm the founder of Stitches for Strength.

This summer, I decided to combine my love of crochet with my desire to give back to my community. My goal is to crochet and donate handmade blankets to babies in the NICU, where newborns who are premature, sick, or need extra medical care receive treatment.

I know that having a baby in the NICU can be an emotional and stressful experience for families. While I can't change what they're going through, I hope that a handmade blanket can provide a small source of comfort and remind them that people are thinking about them and supporting them.

Every blanket donated through Stitches for Strength is crocheted by hand, one stitch at a time. This project is powered by the generosity of donors, fellow crocheters, and community members who want to help make a difference.
