Fifty five years ago on Sunday, Falkirk Vespa Club became the ninth Scottish branch of the Vespa Club of Britain. From November ‘59 the club ran until 1963 and after a couple of brief attempts to resurrect it is back up and running, thanks to the Falkirk Steeple Scooter Club who last year sought agreement to affiliate to the Vespa Club of Britain and revive the original Falkirk club’s branch number (142).
Don’t think there was ever a metal cog badge produced for Branch No. 142 but they did have a badge, designed by one of their members, Charlie Craw, who incidentally also designed the cog badge for the Vespa Club of Scotland in 1960 - his creation having been chosen by comedian Rikki Fulton out of a large number of entries.
