StillTempo is a Chrome extension that transforms your browser's New Tab page into a personalised environment that balances productivity and relaxation through two complementary experiences: Workspace and Lounge.
StillTempo brings together productivity tools, curated photography, weather, humour and optional internet radio, allowing you to create a browsing environment that suits your needs and your pace.
We believe your New Tab should be yours. This Privacy Policy explains what information StillTempo uses, where it is stored, how it is handled and when external services are involved.
StillTempo uses Chrome's local extension storage to remember:
Your Hitlist tasks and their completion status.
Custom shortcuts, including their names and website addresses.
Focus timer settings and session state.
Appearance preferences and Workspace and Lounge settings.
Wallpaper selections and saved photographs.
Weather preferences, selected city, approximate location and cached weather results.
Radio preferences and other extension settings.
This information is stored locally within your browser profile.
StillTempo does not require you to create an account and does not transmit your task lists, shortcuts or saved preferences to a StillTempo account or central database.
You can export your information as a JSON backup or import a previously saved backup. Exported files remain wherever you choose to save them and are not automatically uploaded to StillTempo.
StillTempo offers optional weather information to complement your New Tab experience.
Weather is enabled by default. When automatic approximate location is enabled and no city has been selected manually, StillTempo contacts GeoJS to estimate your general location using your network's IP address.
The resulting approximate coordinates are used to request weather forecasts from Open-Meteo.
You can disable weather, turn off automatic approximate location detection or select a city manually through StillTempo's settings.
When searching for a city manually, the entered city name is sent to Open-Meteo's geocoding service. Weather requests transmit location coordinates to retrieve relevant local forecasts.
StillTempo does not request GPS device-location permissions or attempt to access your precise device location.
Certain StillTempo features require connections to external service providers to deliver content and functionality.
These services include:
Cloudflare and Unsplash: To retrieve curated photographic wallpapers, display hosted images and support Unsplash image-download tracking.
GeoJS: To estimate approximate location from your network's IP address when automatic weather location is enabled.
Open-Meteo: To retrieve weather forecasts and provide city-search functionality.
icanhazdadjoke: To retrieve optional humour content displayed within the extension.
Internet radio providers: COTN Radio, RelaxingJazz and designated fallback broadcasters deliver audio streams when you choose to start radio playback.
Your browser's default search provider: Receives search queries when you submit searches through StillTempo's search field.
When these services are accessed, they may receive standard connection information, including your IP address, requested resources and other network metadata.
Each external provider handles this information according to its own privacy policies and operational practices.
StillTempo does not transmit your Hitlist tasks, locally saved shortcuts or personal workspace settings to these third-party services.
Information handled by StillTempo is used exclusively to provide and support its New Tab functionality.
This includes:
Remembering your personal preferences and settings.
Maintaining Hitlist tasks and focus timer sessions.
Delivering requested weather, photography, humour and radio content.
Supporting your selected Workspace or Lounge experience.
Improving responsiveness through locally cached information.
The StillTempo extension package does not contain a dedicated advertising or behavioural analytics system.
StillTempo's operator does not sell user data or use collected information for targeted advertising, creditworthiness assessment, lending decisions or unrelated commercial profiling.
Your locally stored preferences, tasks and other extension information remain in your browser's extension storage until they are changed, cleared or removed through supported browser controls.
Some information, including weather responses, approximate location results, wallpapers and humour content, may be cached locally to improve performance and reduce unnecessary network requests.
Disabling an online feature prevents further requests associated with that feature, although previously cached information may remain until it is cleared or removed.
Uninstalling StillTempo removes its extension-managed browser storage according to Chrome's standard extension lifecycle.
Any JSON backup files you have exported and saved separately must be deleted manually if you no longer wish to retain them.
Third-party service providers may retain network request information according to their respective privacy policies and retention practices.
StillTempo uses Chrome browser permissions necessary to provide its intended functionality, including:
Local storage for preferences, tasks and configuration.
Browser-default search integration.
Focus timer scheduling and session management.
Favicon display for custom shortcuts.
Optional desktop notifications.
Audio playback for internet radio.
StillTempo does not request permission to read your complete browsing history, inspect arbitrary website contents, access saved passwords or read personal communications.
Connections to external service providers use HTTPS.
Executable JavaScript is bundled within the extension package rather than downloaded and executed remotely.
StillTempo is designed to operate primarily within your browser, keeping your personal workspace information under your control.
StillTempo is designed to give you control over your New Tab experience.
Through the extension's settings, you can:
Customise your Workspace and Lounge preferences.
Enable or disable weather information.
Disable automatic approximate location detection.
Select a weather location manually.
Enable or disable online humour content.
Choose whether to play internet radio.
Enable or disable desktop notifications.
Export or import locally saved extension data.
Modify or remove saved tasks, shortcuts and preferences.
You may also uninstall StillTempo at any time through Chrome's extension management interface.
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes to StillTempo's features, service providers, technical implementation or data-handling practices.
Material changes will be reflected in the published Privacy Policy and, where required, communicated through the extension or its associated Chrome Web Store listing.
The effective date displayed at the beginning of this document indicates when the current policy took effect.
