Stijn J. van Tongeren

As of September 2025 I am heading a Heisenberg research group on "Integrable Deformations in Holography", funded by the DFG. Before this my group was funded by the Emmy Noether programme of the DFG.

I am also a principal investigator in the graduate school Rethinking Quantum Field Theory.

Our group studies aspects of integrability in AdS/CFT, more specifically: integrable deformations of sigma models, their applications in string theory and AdS/CFT, and twist deformations in noncommutative field theory, in particular applied to 4d maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory.
