NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS
Stigma refers to negative views or discrimination directed towards someone because of a distinctive feature, such as a mental disease, health condition, or disability. Social stigmas can also be associated with other traits such as gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, and culture. Stigma can have profound and deadly repercussions. Stigma brings with it a lack of understanding from others, which can be invalidating and upsetting, but stigma also has more serious implications, such as stoking fear, wrath, and intolerance toward others. The pandemic has raised the rate of depression, led to a reduction in mental health, and increased the number of suicides. It is past time for us to be among those who spread positivity and help and provide a small proportion of our positivity to the world - for it to be a lesson or an inspiring story for those who need it at the proper time.
