Hi

Few weeks ago I have started using Evernote Sticky Notes. Everything was fine till last weekend, when the app failed to sync on one of my laptops. To deal with that I deleted my user account connection and tried to request new activation link from Evernote, but after clicking button, only thing, which I got is error: Remote server returned an error (411) length required.

I have tried to reinstall Sticky Notes, uninstall and clean register, uninstall, clean register and install older version of Sticky Notes, and nothing is working. Requests for activation from Google or Dropbox are working.

Anyone have any good advice?

I am having the same issue, I really hope the developer fixes the issue. I rely on this sticky notes product as well. It must be some change to the API to get the activation link. The developer doesn't seem to have any contact email that I can see....

Love the evernote product but I miss synced sticky notes on desktop because I used them most.

I have the same Error-411-problem with Sticky Notes and the activation of my Evernote account. I get in contact with Evernote-facebook, they are sorry, because they can do nothing?! The error 411 ist an Error of Sticky Notes?! I thought that an Evernote-Server sends the activation link for my Evernote account. Or is it an Sticky Notes Server? I only want to understand and also it seems that Sticky Notes and the site: -soft.com/ does not exist anymore. So, by the way, there is also no support to get in contact?!

Are You sure that it is an Sticky Notes Server which sends the activation link for an Evernote account? Because I get an activation link for (from?) google drive. Without the error 411. I can also synchronize Sticky Notes with my Google Drive account. When it is an Sticky Notes Server error, why it make trouble with the Evernote account and not with the Google Drive account. Because of this i think that it is an Error of the Evernote-Server. Am I right? If not, why?

The software isn't working because Evernote changed their API and the developer of Sticky Notes didn't update their application to work with an updated API. I have reverse-engineered the Sticky notes software and managed to get it working again. I will post the updated software to my blog in a day or two, because I am preoccupied with work right now. I will also post a link to the updated software in this thread.

In Sticky Notes version 3.0 and later, you can sign in to sync your notes so that you can see the same notes across apps and your favorite devices. Usually, these devices have a settings command or link you can use. Consult your device's documentation if you're aren't sure.

Android phone Your sticky notes appear with OneNote for Android phones. Open OneNote, and then on the bottom right, tap Sticky Notes. Visit the Google Play Store to install OneNote with Sticky Notes.

You can also quickly access your sticky notes without OneNote if you are using Microsoft Launcher as a custom Home screen for your Android phone. From the Android Home screen, slide from the left edge to see your feed, then flick down and tap Customize feed to add cards. Flick down again and turn on Sticky Notes to add to your feed.

As long as your favorite devices are signed in to the same Microsoft account, your sticky notes stay synced up so that you can see the same notes, everywhere. Sign in with the same Microsoft account to see your notes across your devices.

If the URL contains a "www", like www.stormboard.com, you can type the website directly in the the sticky note and Stormboard will automatically convert the text to a link. If it does not change into a link automatically, you may need to include "https://" at the beginning of the link.

I've been using the notezilla for a month, just using the trial version of it (had to uninstall after that expired ). The only feature I like in a Notes app is to be able to stick notes on the desktop or on a certain window. At least on the desktop if not the window part, since it allows me to keep track of notes without having to open the app regularly.

As I said in my message, I want to stick my notes to desktop. Being able to see it on the desktop screen (when I press Win+D and it brings me to the desktop I should be seeing the notes there as sticky notes) and the next part of the message was about being able to stick those notes to different Windows (i.e. if I am running chrome, I can stick it to chrome windows only or any other window(s))

e.g. a link like joplin://hashhere would open the note in joplin, thus one could add an alias or a link objext on the desktop to do what you want.

But sticking a note to the desktop (making the content available on the desktop) is probably not possible with an Electron app. But who knows, maybe there is a way. Maybe an Electron guru has an idea how this could be done.

Damn, that sticky notes is the only feature I used to use Notezilla for. For some reason, OneNote never worked for me on my desktop. But if I am correct, all those other applications all have such a feature already, including Evernote and OneNote too.

@RaXorX I was curious if you figured out anything to get this sort of functionality with joplin? I am looking for a workaround. I think I have an idea of how this might be able to work, but it would require joplin to have the ability to link to a note outside of joplin.

I know exactly exactly the feature you are talking about from Notezilla. You can attach a note to any window and it will bring up the note if you ever open that window. . I believe it uses the window title name to keep track of with the sqlite or database.... So be it a web page, a word document or even a folder file, the post it/sticky note will pop up.

It is really nice because you can create a sticky note, "link " it to a window, ie a forum thread, and take some notes. If you ever return to that same thread, the post it note will just pop up like magic provided the window window title is unique. You can see what you wrote and also you can add to it.

There are a number of other sticky note applications that have this function. On my old pc I have a free application that does this, but I do not remember the name. This feature can be seen in the video on note zilla here: Windows: Attach sticky notes to Microsoft Word documents in Windows using Notezilla - YouTube

If there was a way to create a filesystem link, that opens a joplin note, you could likely make something like this work by placing a link to the joplin note on the pinned sticky note Are URL links on the roadmap?

Just, Copy the website URL and Paste it in the Notezilla sticky note. A link to the website will be created instantly. When you click on the link inside the note, the website will open in your browser from within the note itself.

From Notezilla 9 onwards, you can also add inline hyperlinks. Just double click inside a sticky note to go to the edit mode, select an existing text, right click and choose "Insert hyperlink" to add an hyperlink if you are using the Standard editor. If you are using the Markdown editor, you can click the "Insert hyperlink" from the bottom Formatting toolbar.

This is an approach to keep important notes on the desktop, even if Joplin is in background or closed. It has a basic set of features and some limitations, but might be extended if there is interest (and time) My motivation was to learn about cross-platform development with PySide6 (Qt).

Thank you for your swift reaction. I installed the update, but unfortunately couldn't test it because in the meantime i refreshed the Joplin web clipper authentication code and couldn't get Joplin-sticky-notes to forget the old code and ask for a new one. Could you tell me on Linux where should I change that code?

There are many ways to download old Windows 10 ISO files. Here I have choose a tool from HeiDoc.net which uses official Microsoft link to download ISO files. For this procedure, I have used two Windows 10 versions --

We recently noticed that when a student submits a doc/pdf to the assignment folder, any links are automatically made into sticky notes when the instructor is grading. This is strange and confusing for instructors.

As commented above, the Hyperlink feature also supports linking for Microsoft OneNote notes. This special and nice capability was specially designed to allow calling a OneNote note from a 7 Sticky Notes note, and being able to open it by just clicking its hyperlink. It works automatically and all you need to do is to copy the note hyperlink at OneNote by clicking its "Copy Hyperlink for this Note" menu, and then go directly to 7 Sticky Notes and press CTRL + V or pick the "Paste" right click menu to paste the hyperlink in the note text. When you paste the hyperlink for the OneNote note, 7 Sticky Notes will automatically detect it, and then automatically create for you a hyperlink with the name of the OneNote note!! 2351a5e196
